All of our Standard Rooms have recently undergone a full refurbishment, which was completed in March 2016. Carr-Saunders Hall has an unbeatable location in the very heart of London. It is within easy reach of many famous attractions and shopping destinations. Madam Tussauds, Regent's Park, The British Museum, Oxford Street, Regent Street and Covent Garden are all nearby. The hall offers a range of clean, comfortable rooms including singles, twins and doubles. All rooms have shared bathrooms. Please note: On Saturday 11 June check in will be from 5pm due to a change over from student to commercial operations Please note: due to maintenance work taking place on the 6th Floor Dining Room for the period of the 21st August – 10th September, Carr-Saunders will be only be serving a continental breakfast to guests in the ground floor common room. Continental breakfast includes croissants, bread, cereal, fruit, boiled eggs, ham and cheese. Additionally, there will be other building maintenance taking place at Carr-Saunders throughout the Summer vacation months leading to likely noise disruption from the work between 9:30am and 5pm Monday – Friday on an intermittent basis. Weekend work will be required on Saturday between 10:30am – 2:30pm.

Carr-Saunders Hall opened in 1968 and is very typical of residences built during this time. It is named after Professor Sir Alexander Morris Carr-Saunders who was director of LSE between 1937 and 1957. His directorship covered the period when LSE was relocated to Cambridge during World War II. Accommodation at Carr-Saunders comes with an excellent breakfast: you get a choice of six items from a range of continental and English options plus tea, coffee and toast. Carr-Saunders is two minutes walk from Charlotte Street, one of London's most famous eating destinations. There is a huge range on offer from cheap and cheerful to top notch, Thai to Italian, with everything in between. Vending machines are available 24 hours a day in the common room. Free WiFi Small snack making areas are available on each floor Coin-operated laundry Common room with TV, sofas, books and games 24hr CCTV and Security Lifts to all floors Car parking costs £15 for 24hrs.
