The owners Chris and Louise Fry, took over Devonshire House in 2004. Between them they have notched up 45 years experience in the hotel industry and have used that knowledge to create a relaxed place to stay with a personal touch. The family owned and run bed and breakfast features five refurbished ensuite bedrooms, with coordinated soft furnishings and homely touches. From up-to-date magazines, the local paper and free Wi-Fi to fresh milk for your tea, they have tried to think of everything you may need to make your stay a comfortable and enjoyable one – a real home from home. If you are planning a longer stay in Bath, Laburnum Cottage is a charming, split-level cottage, ideal for a couple or a family of up to four. The cottage has a fully-fitted kitchen with washing machine, a spacious living area and sleeping area upstairs. Devonshire House offers free on-street parking and limited secure parking for those coming to Bath by car. If not, the bus stop is just a few hundred yards away and buses stop approximately every 10 minutes during the day, taking you to the bus station in the city centre. Alternatively it is just a 20-minute downhill walk to the city. Bath is truly a beautiful city, best enjoyed at a slower pace. Although, we recommend the open top bus tour for ‘newbies’ to the city, there is nothing better than simply strolling around the streets enjoying the buskers here, a coffee there and soaking up the atmosphere whilst admiring all the fantastic architecture. Within driving distance you have Glastonbury, Wells, Longleat, Cotswolds, Wales and much more.

A restored Victorian terrace, formerly a Victorian grocery and provisions store. A hearty continental breakfast is served between 8.00am-9.00am with the option of a cooked breakfast which includes; back bacon, fresh mushrooms, grilled tomato and a farm-bought egg – cooked the way you want. Or for a lighter bite, scrambled eggs and smoked salmon, toast, jams and preserves. For dinner close by, the Devonshire Arms serves pub food just next door and 3 minutes down the hill is another pub, an Indian restaurant and a gourmet restaurant.
