Welcome to our award winning Bed and Breakfast, Drinkstone, Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk Our Bed & Breakfast is situated in three acres of beautiful gardens, now open as part of the National Gardens Scheme. The gardens once formed part of the Drinkstone Park estate. The B&B is quiet and secluded yet only a short drive to the A14 and central to all areas of East Anglia. Just a ten minute drive to Bury St Edmunds or Stowmarket. Comfortable and welcoming accommodation with an excellent breakfast & more, all B&B rooms are en-suite with free internet access. There is also a comfortable and quiet guest lounge. Whether your visit is business or pleasure, one night or more, we personally take care to ensure your stay is as pleasant as possible. We share our house with 2 very friendly dogs, therefore regrettably we do not allow doggie visitors to come and stay… nor are we able to accommodate children! We look forward to welcoming you to our home from home B & B.

As you will be aware from the History Page of our website the Ambers, home of Drinkstone Park Bed and Breakfast was built in the grounds of Drinkstone Park a mansion demolished in 1951. We moved to Ambers in November 2003, Christine has lived in the village all her life and I was born in Long Melford so neither of us has gone far – well if we did we came back! To start your day the right way, Christine’s breakfast. We are pleased to offer you this breakfast menu the ingredients of which are always the best produce available, whenever possible we use our own or locally sourced The gardens here extend to some three acres, when we arrived they consisted of some lovely mature trees including some magnificent yews, grassland and concrete roads. The concrete was laid by the American tank regiment who occupied the mansion during the war. We were to later find that not only did we have the obvious concrete driveways but most of the mansion was buried in the ground! Nevertheless we set to work to restore the older parts of the gardens and create new areas of interest. Christine herself a Chelsea Gold winner in floristry, in her previous life she was a floristry lecturer, was most creative with planting and colour schemes. Her late father, well known plantsman and keeper of the National Collection of delphiniums, Kenneth Harbutt, was most helpful with his advice. Ken was also the keeper of the National Collection of gooseberries and was instrumental in the planting of our fruit areas. Why stay with us?
