Offering affordable luxury without compromise - in the heart of Scotland. If you are looking for great Scottish hospitality, award-winning food, stunning countryside and a luxurious country retreat, Knock Castle has it all. You could be in search of a quiet meal out together, a weekend break in the heart of Scotland, an unrivalled wedding venue or a great place for business - you'll find we offer exactly what you require and real value for money.

Knock Castle was originally built in 1885 by Glaswegian architect, John Honeyman, for retired Glaswegian merchant William Miller. It was completed at a cost of £4515. Honeyman later joined with John Keppie to form architectural firm Honeyman & Keppie whose work can still be seen in some parts of the castle e.g. windows, fireplaces in hall and lounge etc. In 1932, David MacBrayne, of the MacBrayne shipping family who owned Caledonian MacBrayne (also known as Cal-Mac), bought the house. In keeping with the buildings history MacBrayne retained Honeyman & Keppie to add further rooms to the house. In 1945, Dr Gertrude Brown and Dr J.H.Kellogg, who had made connections with each other previously in America, joined together to run, first a nursing home, but ultimately a health centre in the Castle Lodge due to the clean air and pure water which could be used for hydrotherapy. Upon her death in 1974, Dr Brown gifted her health centre to the Seventh Day Adventist Church who was to continue her work under the auspices of the Good Health Association. The Castle itself continued to stay in the hands of the MacBrayne family as the link passed from David MacBrayne to Lady MacBrayne, who lived in the house until the late 1970s when it was purchased by the Seventh Day Adventist Church. The Church chose to operate both the Castle House and the Lodge together as Roundelwood Health Spa whose existence in the town of Crieff continued until December 2007 when the Spa was purchased by the Henderson Group. The property has a roof top restaurant, where you can enjoy breakfast, lunch or dinner with panoramic views of the breathtaking Strathearn Valley. Food is cooked by a team of chefs who take passion in offering a variety of menus with something to suit everyone's taste. The fantastic food is complemented by an extensive wine list, including a number of rare wines. Feel free to wander in the gardens where there are benches and a summer house to enjoy the views of the local scenery or why not speak to a member of our team for a recommendation on one of the many stunning walks that you can take near by the hotel. Guests can enjoy the leisure facilities which are open daily from 07.00am to 10.00pm and towels are provided for you, the facilities include; a swimming pool, sauna, steam room, Jacuzzi and fitness gym.
