Laskill Grange is a listed/historic building and has 3 double, 2 twin & 1 single bedroom. There is a lounge with an open fire and a garden in the grounds with a lake, a stream and summer house. Bed & breakfast is available with evening meal by arrangement using local home grown produce wherever possible. Laskill House stands in Bilsdale, 6 miles north of Helmsley, in the North Yorkshire Moors National Park. It is surrounded by hills and open countryside which fringe the unique open moors. Traditionally built of Yorkshire stone in the seventies Laskill has its own private spring water supply that runs down from the hillside. Originally built as a private residence, it has just opened its doors as a contemporary Bed and Breakfast establishment whilst still retaining its rural charm. Open all year round for B&B, dinners, private dining and meetings.

Laskill is a small hamlet situated 5 miles to the NW of Helmsley (45 minutes from York). Dating back to the Middle Ages, and originally under the control of Rievaulx Abbey (A Heritage Monument located nearby) it is generally recognised that central Laskill is composed of only three buildings:- Laskill House itself, Laskill Grange and the Quaker Meeting House, the oldest standing building and final resting place of over fifty Quakers. Laskill was important as a medieval trading place and also as a settlement for Cistercian monks. Skilled metallurgists, they established a highly advanced blast furnace, the single mediaeval furnace so far identified in Britain, which produced a very refined iron ore. Sadly its progress was ended in 1538 by Henry VIII with the destruction of Rievaulx Abbey. If the monks had been allowed to pass on their new techniques the Industrial Revolution may have arrived two and a half centuries sooner. Breakfast is served at 8.30am Monday-Saturday and 9.00am on Sundays. There is a Yorkshire breakfast, ranging from fresh fruits, cereals and yoghurt to the full works, using the properties own eggs and locally produced sausage, bacon and black pudding. There is a four course dinner at £25.00 served at 7pm with the main course being probably a roast with all the usual accompaniments and a selection of Yorkshire cheeses to finish with. Vegetarian options are no problem. Both are served in the Dining Room while private dining is available for up to 24 should you wish to use the private dining room which opens out onto the garden terrace. If you are out exploring a picnic full of homemade goodies is available at £10 per person. For late arrivals Laskill House can provide a late supper (soup and sandwiches) with prior notice, from £8.50. There is a garden in the grounds with a lake, a stream and summer house. North Yorkshire has much to offer. The historic city of York the market town of Helmsley, the Steam Railway from Pickering to Grosmont (Aidensfield in Heartbeat) and the villages along the East Coast such as Runswick Bay and Sandsend. Ideal for exploring the countryside of the North Yorkshire Moors that surrounds Laskill House whether on foot, by car or bicycle or even on horseback. Fishing for grayling and trout available on the river Seph that runs just below the house. Castle Howard or Rievaulx Abbey provide history and culture while Harrogate, Northallerton and Helmsley provide some retail therapy. Explore "Heartbeat" country and enjoy a ride over the Moors to Whitby, catch the Steam Railway from Pickering and take a trip back in time. The Forbiden Corner at Middleham provides a very intriguing day out for children of all ages. For that special occasion Laskill House can provide handmade chocolates, flowers, champagne, cakes etc. Beauty treatments can be arranged in the comfort of your own room, from massages to manicures.
