Built in 1714, Soughton Hall has been the cherished home to a succession of heirs in the Wynne-Bankes family line. Nearly 300 years old and once a home to bishops and nobility, the hall is now privately owned. The stately historic elegance of the exterior hides a boutique hotel with a warm and welcoming atmosphere that's perhaps more relaxed and informal than you may expect from a country house. Stay in one of the 15 sumptuous bedrooms with either double or twin beds all with ensuite bathrooms, remote control televisions, radios, direct dial telephones, modem points (some have free wireless broadband access - please state at the time of booking if you require this service), trouser presses, hair dryers, mineral water, tea and coffee making facilities and most enjoy lovely views of surrounding parkland. Midweek offers available for only £150 per night Based on 2 guests sharing a double room and includes bed and breakfast (full Welsh or Continental) and a 2 course evening meal in the award winning Stables Bar (excludes drinks). This offer is valid from Mondays to Thursday only and does not including Bank Holidays, Christmas, New Year, Valentines Day or for wedding parties.

Distinguished residents have included a Bishop, two knights, three High Sheriffs, a Chaplin to Queen Victoria, a Lord Chief Justice, a Lord Chancellor's secretary and in William John Bankes, one of the greatest travellers and collectors of the early nineteenth century. It was William John who was responsible for re-working Soughton Hall in the 1820s. Inspired by his adventures in the Middle East he added the mullioned windows, the first floor drawing room and dining room and the Islamic turrets upon the court walls. His plans were drawn by fellow traveller Charles Barry, later Sir Charles Barry, architect of the British Houses Of Parliament. Continental or Full Welsh breakfast included. Breakfast is served between 7.30am - 9.30am in the original servants hall. The award winning Stables Bar Restaurant draws on a horse racing theme to provide a truly unique setting. The Stables is open 7 days a week from 12.00pm, serving food all day with the last food order at 9.30pm. Situated in the surrounding parkland is a championship golf course, there are practice nets in the gardens. Beautiful landscaped gardens to explore. Due to the unique architecture of the Hall a limited number of bedrooms have free wireless broadband access. Facilities for broadband can also be found in the Library. Room service available. TV Lounge.
