'Simon Radley at The Chester Grosvenor' has held its Michelin star since 1990 and offers exquisite menus created by Executive Chef Simon Radley, while the talented Sommelier is on hand to find the perfect accompaniment from one of the UK's most extensive wine cellars. The Arkle Bar and Lounge offers a vast selection of malts, ports and liqueurs, ideal for a pre-dinner drink. This is also the elegant setting in which the hotel's Traditional Afternoon Tea is served. The Parisian chic surroundings of La Brasserie make it the perfect place to unwind with a cocktail, light bite or leisurely lunch. The award-winning Spa at The Chester Grosvenor offers a selection of pampering treatments using the finest lotions and potions from Darphin and ELEMIS. Located next to the iconic Eastgate Clock, Chester's most popular historic sites are easily accessible by foot. Take a stroll along the country's most complete city walls, taking in the views of the scenic River Dee, Chester Racecourse and the architectural beauty of Chester Cathedral. The city boasts a plethora of boutiques, bars and restaurants, all situated along the dual-tiered shopping gallery known as the 'Rows' which are unique to Chester. The surrounding Cheshire countryside is home to several stately homes and award-winning gardens, including those at Chester Zoo.

The stunning Grade II listed building has been known as The Chester Grosvenor since 1865. Richard, second Marquess of Westminster, saw a need in an expanding city for a larger and grander hotel than the existing Golden Talbot. It soon became one of the most celebrated hotels in the country, deemed fit for a future king with the visit of Edward, Prince of Wales just a few years after opening. From Tudor Inn and political headquarters in bawdy Hanoverian days to a glittering mecca for the Regency and Victorian County set and on through the prosperous Edwardian era, The Chester Grosvenor has become one of Britain's leading international hotels. Throughout the 20th century, under the Grosvenor family's careful eye, the hotel has earned a reputation as a proud bastion of tradition and taste. That reputation and the patronage of the rich and famous it has attracted has transformed a mere hotel into an institution. There are two award-winning restaurants, most notably 'Simon Radley at The Chester Grosvenor' which has retained its Michelin star since 1990. The Riedel Cellar runs beneath Chester's main high street and stocks over 1,000 bins of wines from around the world. Guests may also enjoy The Arkle Bar and Lounge which serves morning coffee, light lunches and traditional afternoon tea, it is also the perfect place for a pre-dinner cocktail. La Brasserie offers a Parisian style setting with relaxed sofas for enjoying a coffee, cocktails or light bites, or a seated dining area for a leisurely meal beneath the hand-painted glass skylight. Grosvenor Park is just a short stroll from this city centre hotel and features beautiful gardens and a miniature railway, while the Roman Gardens, next to the Amphitheatre, display a collection of finely carved building fragments from the Roman legionary fortress of Deva. Beyond these two landscaped areas, guests will find Chester's Groves, a riverside promenade complete with a bandstand and stunning views over the River Dee. Outside the city, Cheshire is home to several stately homes and gardens, from Tatton Park to Arley Hall and Gardens. All bedrooms are fully air-conditioned and double-glazed, each having a widescreen digital television, Bose CD radio alarm clock, iPod docking station, modem point, complimentary WIFI, 2-line telephone with 3 extensions, towelling bathrobes, slippers, guest safe, trouser press, individually stocked mini-bar and exclusive luxurious toiletries. The majority of rooms have a DVD player. The Spa at The Chester Grosvenor offers rituals and treatments designed to balance mind, body and spirit. Guests may also use the gym with modern state of the art equipment during their stay. The hotel has a variety of stylish and flexible meeting and private dining rooms that can cater for 2 to 250 guests. Guests may pre-book the hotel chauffeur for sightseeing tours or simply for airport transfers.
