WELCOME TO LANCASTER UNIVERSITY GUEST ROOMS! Lancaster University Guest Rooms provide bed and breakfast accommodation, offering a mix of 3* Single, Twin and Double rooms. Guests staying in the ensuite bedrooms will receive complimentary toiletries, tea and coffee facilities and Wi-Fi. In every room there is an iron, ironing board, hair dryer, kettle and towels. The rooms are rated 3 star by Visit England. You can access all the facilities that the campus has to offer including the Sports Centre with a climbing wall, swimming pool, tennis facilities, sauna and then there is the outdoor woodland walk and trim trail. Just 10 minutes from Lancaster town centre, the guest bedrooms are the perfect base to explore the city, or if you are feeling a little more adventurous, the Trough of Bowland and the Lake District are within a 40-minute reach. If you are travelling by car a parking permit will need to be purchased from the Bowland Hall reception during check in costing £5 for up to 10 hours, or a ticket can be purchased from the machines on campus. Parking restrictions are enforced from Monday at 08:00am until Friday at 18:00pm. All guests parking during this time will need to make sure their car is parked in a visitor car park. Weekend parking is free of charge. Parking for up to 2 hours cost £2.00 Parking for up to 10 hours cost £5.00

The delicious breakfast is served at the Marketplace on campus around a 2-minute walk from the accommodation. Breakfast is included in the rate and consists of 10 items of your choice, tea & coffee and toast. All of the guest bedrooms are also located close to the impressive selection of campus restaurants and bars. For lunch and dinner, there is a large variety of places to eat and drink on campus. there are restaurants, take-outs, supermarkets, bars and much more! Guests are welcome to eat and drink anywhere on campus, a map of the food outlets can be provided upon check in. Campus is located only a 10-minute drive from the city centre which has a wide range of restaruants too. The Lancaster University campus occupies a beautiful 560 acre parkland site at Bailrigg, just three miles from Lancaster City Centre. Within this beautiful space there is the 2.8 mile woodland walk around the perimeter of the campus, where you can encounter a number of different species from numerous wildflowers to squirrels and even deer. The Lake District is on the doorstep which is accessible by train or car. There is also the Williamson Park which is a must see! This is only around a 5-minute drive away. Wireless internet is available in all bedrooms free of charge. A username and password will be issued upon arrival. Banks & Shops: The campus is home to two banks, a post office, supermarkets and general stores, bakery, bookshop, newsagent, hairdressing salon, charity shop – and even an ice cream parlour (in the summer!) Laundrette: There are a number of Laundrettes on campus, these work using a top-up card which can be obtained from each laundrette. Please note that there is a minimum top up of £10.00, this is non refundable. The staff at the reception can direct you to the laundrettes. The Sports Centre boasts a multitude of state-of-the-art facilities, from badminton courts to a climbing wall, swimming pool, gym and sauna! A multi-faith Chaplaincy Centre available. Health Services includes an NHS doctor's surgery, a pharmacy and a private dentist on the campus.

Arrival information

Please note your room key(s) will be available from Conference Reception in Bowland Hall. Check in is from 2.00 p.m. until 8.00 p.m. Monday - Friday and 2.00 p.m. until 7.00 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Check out time is 10.00 a.m. on the day of your departure and keys must strictly be returned by this time. If you will be any later than 8.00 p.m. please collect your keys from Security Lodge (open 24 hours a day) By Car: Leave the M6 motorway at Junction 33 and take the A6 north towards Lancaster. For Lancaster University main campus - turn right at the third set of traffic lights on the A6 into the University main drive. Take the first exit left from the roundabout at the top of the main drive, then the first avenue on your right. This brings you to the Reception Lodge where security staff will direct you to your destination on campus. Visitor Car Parking: Car parking is available on campus 24/7 and is free after 6pm. Parking charges do apply during the day on campus and can be purchased from any of the 11 pay and display machines across campus a cost of £2 for two hours or £5 for the full day. Chip and pin card payment facilities are available at each machine. Alternatively, all-day visitor scratch cards are available from reception priced at £5 each. Wheelchair accessible spaces are clearly marked across all car parking areas on campus. Blue Badge holders should park in Bowland Avenue. By Rail: There are direct rail links between Lancaster and many of the UK's major cities and airports. By Bus: The bus station is situated on Damside Street in the City Centre. Bus (services 2, 2A, 3, 4) leave for the University every five minutes on weekdays. Times vary during the university vacation period. By Air: From Manchester International Airport, there is a train service direct to Lancaster or taxi's available at all hours. By Bicycle: Most colleges have secure cycle stores at the newer buildings. Other residences have undercover cycle stands.
