Located about 10 minutes walk to the famous Canterbury Cathedral and the town centre, situated in a quiet residential area. Set in a beautiful 120-year-old townhouse, Kipps offers a wide range of budget accommodation from dormitory rooms to single and double/twin rooms, suitable for both groups and individuals. Kipps is an ideal base from which to explore the Kent countryside known as the Garden of England. Seaside resorts of Whitstable and Herne Bay are within easy cycling distance with regular bus services from Canterbury. Further afield are Dover Castle, Leeds Castle and Dover Cross Channel Port for easy day trips to France.

A fully equipped kitchen with a large dining room. Due to the location of the hostel there are supermarkets, cafes, bars and restaurants all within walking distance. A large rear garden with a pool table, eating area and BBQ. Parking is free on the road with restrictions applying only from 12.00pm to 4.00pm on weekdays. Friendly and knowledgable staff, a free Wi-Fi and free internet terminal. A small shop, hot water 24/7. Bike hire is available. Weekly social events including garden pool parties in the summertime, Nintendo Wii and Xbox nights with free pancakes, cake nights with free tea and coffee, table tennis nights with a free sausage sizzle and also nights out at the local bar with the staff. As well as BBQ's, pasta and film nights.

Arrival information

Directions: Bus Station: Turn left at the bus station (heading away from the store Fenwicks). Turn left onto Watling Street and walk towards the roundabout. Take the underground pathway onto Old Dover Road. Walk up towards the traffic lights and turn right onto Nunnery Fields (there will be a church on the corner). Walk about 5 minutes up this road and the hostel is on the left-hand side. Approximately 10-minute walk or £4.00-6.00 in a taxi. Nearest Train Station: Canterbury East Train Station: Turn right out of the station walking towards the car park. There are green and blue signs pointing to a bike path/walking path. Walk through the gate and towards a bridge on the right where you cross over the train tracks. Continue along this road and up the hill (Nunnery Road) Fields. Turn left at the end of Nunnery Road and the hostel is on the right. Approximately a 5-minute walk or £5.00 in a taxi.
