A luxury country hotel with open fires, fine art, chandeliers and antiques set in 35 acres of tranquil parkland just 12 miles (19 km) from Central London and a mile (1.6 km) from junction 24 of the M25. All ensuite rooms are individually decorated and most have garden or countryside views, others are located in separate lodges and include air conditioning and private Jacuzzi and sauna rooms. Executive, luxury and four poster rooms have additional extras such as walk in power showers, fluffy bathrobes, slippers and designer toiletries.

The lodge was built around the 1400's to house the keepers who looked after the woods and deer in the royal hunting grounds favoured by the Kings and Queens of England, including Elizabeth I. In 1838 the lodge was rebuilt however, original features still remain such as the entrance hall, reception area and panelling around the main staircase. The lodge then was used a private house and private resdiential hotel until Edward Beale bought the property in 1945. It was then re-designed, extended and the famous Arboretum was planted. After sixty years the hotel is still is owned and run by the Beale Family who have continued to change and enhance the hotel. Breakfast is included at an additonal price and served in the Mary Beale Restaurant from 7.00am-9.30am weekdays and 8.00am-10.00am weekends. The restaurant currently holds a two AA Rosette Award and serves a variety of dishes using locally sourced produce from light snacks, lunches, afternoon teas and A la Carte dinners. The hotel politely requests that trainers, shorts and jeans are not worn in the evenings and that gentlemen wear a jacket and tie on Friday and Saturday evenings and Sunday lunchtime. Explore the grounds at West Lodge Park which has a national collection of Hornbeams, as well as over 800 different species of trees from around the world, guided tours are available. Enjoy a game of croquet or putting on the lawns, or just relax with a drink. Guests using the hotel have use of a nearby private leisure club with indoor pool and gymnasium. On Fridays and weekends enjoy the resident pianist who plays throughout lunch and dinner.
